Lp smartside was originally developed to resemble t1 11 in many ways but with an extra coating layer to protect the wood against the elements. T1 11 siding is a plywood based product with gro o ves cut into the outer layers to give the appearance of board and batten or shiplap siding. Lp smartside engineered siding is a a strand board that looks like t1 11 osb but is not to be confused the lp smartside is a treated surface that far outperforms. In addition there are many instances of osb materials being used in ways clearly not recommended such as on roofs and exterior decking.

T1 11 siding is a functional siding with great aesthetics so what is the issue with this siding. Water damage is the primary reason it fails. It comes in thicknesses of 3 8 of an inch 5 8 of an inch and 3 4 of an inch. With four components of protection the process adds strength and helps our products withstand impacts freeze thaw cycles high humidity fungal decay and termites.
